Robert Kennedy Jr has found himself a fan base as an anti-vaxxer and anti-Ukraine advocate in the Russo-Ukraine War, which includes some members of my group. In response to several articles supporting Robert Kennedy Jr running for president as an independent, I decided to make my opinion known.
10/10/2023 Peter Man writes:
Robert Kennedy Jr. Statement:
“This ignominious, unprovoked, and barbaric attack on Israel must be met with world condemnation and unequivocal support for the Jewish state’s right to self-defense. We must provide Israel with whatever it needs to defend itself — now. As President, I’ll make sure that our policy is unambiguous so that the enemies of Israel will think long and hard before attempting aggression of any kind.
“I applaud the strong statements of support from the Biden White House for Israel in her hour of need. However, the scale of these attacks means it is likely that Israel will need to wage a sustained military campaign to protect its citizens. Statements of support are fine, but we must follow through with unwavering, resolute, and practical action. America must stand by our ally throughout this operation and beyond as it exercises its sovereign right to self-defense.”
Now, replace Israel with Ukraine and understand what kind of FOS (Full of Shit) politician he is. I received endless scorn when I said the same of Obama during his presidential campaign. Good luck supporting another immoral, lying, "peace-loving" hypocrite.
"We have met the enemy, and he is us."
F. S. comments:
Amen!
E. A. comments:
RFK is even more blatant than Obama. This statement shows it. And I saw through Obama early on as well.
J. W. replies:
Agreed Peter. I saw through Saint Obama before he ran for President when he betrayed the single-payer movement (which had given him much support) in order to run for US Senate.
And I was a pro-Palestinian activist as far back as the first Intifada when it was no popular among progressives - far from it. We took hits for that but we had some significant victories. (In fact one of our adversaries was Joe Kennedy who was my Congressman at the time.)
And I find Kennedy's statements on Israel reprehensible. But I feel like a man who is drowning and someone may be throwing me a lifeline. I am a man confronting nuclear Armageddon because of the US assault on Russia and China. In RFKJr we have someone who stands strongly for ending the Ukraine proxy war and who seems open to detente with China and terminating the US drive for hegemony.
That is my judgement right now - and I may be wrong.
Peter Man responds:
Hi John,
I have been following your political commentaries for more than ten years before the China Writers Group (CWG). One of the first articles attracting my attention was the one you wrote about the infiltration and control of PEN by a mouthpiece and operative of the Hegemon. I was interested because my father was a member of PEN and I went to a few gatherings in Hong Kong when I was in high school. Let's say I'm quite familiar with your anti-nuke stance. I would like to believe I'm anti-war as well. One of the writers who got me interested in learning about the world was Antiwar.com's founder, Justin Raimondo (RIP), who wrote a mind-boggling revisionist history of the 1989 Tiananmen Square protest. This was originally written in 1999 before foreign diplomats, mainstream journalists, Wikileaks and Tiananmen activist leaders themselves unequivocally told the world the massacre did not happen. (Jeff has a ton of material on this subject)
As my dear friends at CWG may already suspect, I do not follow normal human logic; look where it's gotten us. My peace-loving anti-war ways are very different from what one would expect from peaceniks. Whenever I even hint of it, people who want peace would heap scorn on me and declare me another warmonger. Other peace-lovers want to distance themselves from me because I do not disavow war. My theory is the warmongers who have gotten us mired in endless wars and threatened to blow up the world are few in numbers. We even know most of them. They are only powerful and allowed to commit atrocities with impunity because the 99.99% have sheepishly believed in their lies and empowered them. Does anyone here really believe the warmongers are going to peacefully give up their privileges? Are the peaceniks going to smother the warmongers with kisses to help them come to their senses? It's easy to say we're for peace, but is our continued support of lying warmongers going to help us achieve our goals? I don't intend to change any minds; I believe we can find the answers ourselves.
Thirteen academics and peaceniks attended the first congress of the Communist Party of China. They couldn't put up a fight if their lives depended on it. The party's co-founder Chen Duxiu, initially supported by Mao in his peaceful ways, wanted a peaceful revolution organizing labor movements, leaving their safety and the warring ways to the Nationalist army (which was cooperating with the Communists), at the time armed and trained by the Soviet Union. We know what happens when people take a bullhorn to a gunfight and depend on wolves for their security. Chiang Kai-shek slaughtered them. Mao survived and learned political power grew out of the barrel of a gun. Desire peace, by all means, but you'll have to fight the warmongers for it. Make war on the warmongers and you may have peace. It is the contradiction a lot of people can't wrap their heads around.
Coming back to nuke warfare; it cannot happen and cannot be allowed to happen. What do we do to prevent it? Is it by supporting another poorly disguised "peace-loving" warmonger? What lessons will the warmongers learn other than people are suckers, and worse, repeat suckers? For peaceniks who don't know where to begin, I'll start by reminding ourselves of one of the most important strategic tenets from Sun Tzu, "Know yourself and your foe, and you will not fail in a hundred battles."
Here are a few things I have learned about the foe:
1. It is a great country built on the lies of freedom, equality, human rights for all, respect of property rights, God's blessing, a government of the people, the rule of law, and America being the savior and peace-keeper of the modern world.
2. The soul of America: "Never give a sucker an even break." People idolize a good scammer, even immortalizing someone by the name of Ponzi. The real scammers are those who create money out of thin air, give it all to their friends and family while putting it on the books as our debt. You can imagine these people rolling on the floor with laughter as the suckers fight for minimum wage.
3. The game of America is Poker, which rewards bald-faced (also known as poker face) lying. At one point, it could've been Bridge, which rewards players bidding astute contracts and completing them in cooperation with a partner. Nowadays, Bridge is dead in America. Even the idea of Bridge is dead.
4. Game Theory rules: Everyone should know the Madman theory by now. It's simple and gets you what you want by acting mad and threatening to blow up the world, which includes the madman himself, who owns everything and normally does not even want you to stare at his cheese, to say nothing of moving it or blowing it up. I've actually applied it while working for a Trumpian boss, and I can attest it works. A good bluff and a good threat is how you can win a zero sum game at no cost. People who live in fear really believe a leader of the world is about to blow up the world, including everything he and the elites own and treasure, because he is mad, and therefore, everyone must comply with the madman's wishes. How does one deal with a madman? Learn Poker. 5. Bullies are cowards. I have a little experience because a bully who had beaten up everyone at school targeted me when I was a stunted, malnourished, bespectacled, pusillanimous nerd at Primary (Grade) 5. I had grown up in a household with no males and I had not engaged in a single fisticuff in my life. Not understanding normal logic, I became the only one to floor the bully at the schoolyard (within one second), in front of the other kids (following meticulous planning for over a year, keeping my head down and biding my time; I didn't copy the strategy from Deng). After the takedown, he did not bully another schoolmate again because no one feared him, and he was expelled because he flunked in every course. This is the fate of exposed bullies. 6. America has numerous problems they're either unwilling to deal with or incapable of solving. They simply continue to deceive themselves the economy is great, the country is the best in the world and they're Number One. This internal rot has been going on for a long time, and one day, it will cause the house of cards to collapse all at once.
7. The empire and its vassals (some of whom secretly hate being dogs) do not have the wherewithal to subjugate the balancing forces of the Sino-Russia relationship and their circles of influence. Is America going to pivot to the Middle East (or West Asia) from their pivot to Asia or are they going to spread themselves thin with empty rhetoric as the government shuts down before Thanksgiving? If I was an American--and my family is full of them--I would be buying up valuable, physical, tangible assets with any excess cash, preferably hedging with investments outside of America, because a US financial armageddon is coming.
After all the doomsaying, I would like to deliver some positive though grim news. Despite all the reports you get from the mainstream news about how Israel will win the most recent Israel-Palestine war, no positive outcome is possible for Israel and the egregious empire supporting it. The reasons for my prognosis require a long essay, which I don't have time to write now. But here is a succinct, rational and objective analysis by Scott Ritter, whom I've followed since the Iraq War days. I'm almost 90% in agreement with him on this. (see video below)
For those who don't know the background of the conflict, and somehow believe everything suddenly happens unprovoked, please do yourself a favor and watch the following two clips by Norman Finkelstein: Gaza's history and What were they supposed to do? (see videos below)
Norman Finkelstein is Jewish, born of Polish parents who survived concentration camps in World War 2. He also got his PhD from Princeton. Therefore, I'm highly confident he's not a Wumao (50-cents troll). I became interested in the Israel-Palestinian affair when I befriended an Israelis soldier of the first Yom Kippur War who was a tank mechanic at the Battle of Golan Heights. He told me about his fear when he had to climb out of the tank in the middle of a battle to get the tank moving again. His parents were also survivors from Poland. It was almost a year after the Yom Kippur War and we were in second year university at McMaster. At the time, I was very much a supporter of Israel. But that's another story.
J. W. responds:
Thanks, Peter.
Nicely said. Uber-pacifism is a very bad influence in the antiwar movement which in the heart of the US Empire, the only one now in existence, comes down to anti-interventionism.
Unfortunately, the peace movement is often not only taken in by extremist pacifism but at the same time is open to "good," "humane" interventionism, that is, bombing a country to "democratize" it.
Peter Man responds:
One word can amply describe these "I came, I saw, he died" do-gooders who never once intervene against their own warmongers -- hypocrites.

Responding to E. A. in the same thread on Oct 13, 20
Despite the sound and fury you hear from Yahu and the West, no good outcome is possible for Israel and the Empire. Be patient, and understand the suffering of the Palestinian people will not be in vain. I will outline a few of the reasons why I hold such a belief, which is, as usual, based on my abnormal logic.
1. We only see what we're told on TV and the Internet, most of which are controlled by you-know-what. Remind ourselves we know very little of what is going on.
2. A lot of people in the world, including Israelis and American Jews, hate the Yahu. The whole debacle is his doing and he's trying to make a big show of bravado, which may send many more young Israelis to their death. Remember what I said about the Wagner boss being a dead man walking? How long did it take to come about? Yahu is walking the same path and will go down in flames. His best bet is to resign and go to jail. (new comment: must give him credit for having the survival skill of a cockroach)
3. Everyone is all agog over more Israeli war crimes, as if it's something new, or anyone would stop them. Make no mistake, only Palestinians can save themselves, and Hamas will stop the Israelis, as they have done so in the past. Ask yourself this question: why did the Israelis pull out of Gaza and relocate the settlers to the West Bank? Was it because they did not want to commit war crimes? 4. The last time Israel exchanged prisoners with Hamas, Israel released a thousand Palestinians for one Israeli hostage. Wonder what chips Yahu will use for the prisoner swap negotiations this time? 5. Israel is a small country of a little over 9 million, 2 million of which are second class Palestinian citizens, surrounded by over 300 million people in the neighborhood who have been humiliated by this dagger in their heart. Israel's existence depends on the Hegemon. But the Hegemon will not be around forever. What happens afterwards? Will anyone lift a finger to help when the whirlwind the Israelis sow comes around. The main reason I feel certain no good outcome is possible for Israel and the Hegemon is the irony of how everything Israel does hastens the fall of the empire. 6. As for the things I don't know, I don't know how it's possible for Hamas to become this capable on their own. The answer may be they're not on their own. Western narrative of Iran being the secret hand behind the scene is farfetched. Iran is simply too far away and too sanctioned. Much more capable and much closer are Saudi Arabia and Egypt, both with good reasons to help Hamas against Israel. They have learned proxy war from the maestro. One clue is Saudi's recent rosy reports of nearing recognition of Israel, which in my books is an impossibility without settling the Palestinian question. Using my abnormal logic, I interpret exactly the opposite. Sure enough, Saudi's first statement after the Hamas attack was a stinging rebuke of Israel policies toward the Palestinians. As for Egypt, they have a border with Gaza and they are Gaza's lifeline. The fact that they outed themselves immediately by saying they have been providing Hamas intelligence to Israel is quite telling. By my abnormal logic, they have been providing Israel with a mind-numbing amount of noise, causing Israel to miss the real info. If you don't understand how it's done, watch the movie "How to Steal a Million." Strictly by coincidence, both Saudi and Egypt will be members of BRICS+ in a couple of months. They're part of the effort to drive a stake into the heart of the empire. "There are no coincidences, only the illusion of coincidence." -- V for Vendetta.
7. Meanwhile, the skies are darkened with the impending doom of government shutdown in America, auto-worker strike, healthcare worker strike, and many more strikes coming. The Japanese Yen and the Japanese economy are going down. In the past two weeks, America spent 450 Billion dollars it didn't have. Real inflation is high, energy prices are high, illegal immigrant numbers are high, the Fed must keep interest rates high, therefore, long term bond yields are high, causing banks, corporations and commercial real estate to fall like dominoes. But America must fight wars against Russia, China and Iran, while telling vassals such as Japan and Germany they must sacrifice their economy for the greater good of the master. Sending Chuck Schumer to China is telling. The guy is the male version of Nancy Pelosi, and Xi deigned to shake his hand. Nothing is as it seems. The Dems are in deep shit, but so is the GOP and the country as a whole. Another avalanche is coming with the election of a pro-Russian parliament and prime minister in Slovakia. Elsewhere, Maldives elected a president who promised to kick out all foreign soldiers, especially those from India. The winds of change are upon us. Let's hope the empire falls quickly and quietly, not with a bang but with a whimper.
Take heart, my friend.
(New comment: Be patient. Everything is moving in the right direction)

On Oct. 21, 2023, Ray McGovern's analysis of who bombed the Gazan hospital was shared and, despite my admiration for the man for speaking out against atrocities, I posted the following:
A captivating one-hour exposition on who bombed the hospital, but it took me only a microsecond. Anyone who gives credence or the possibility of credence to Bibi's and Biden's bald-faced lies is giving substance to flatus. Assuming we're idiots who need to prove the veracity of every lie gushing from the mouths of proven habitual liars, we can see with our own eyes from mainstream news the effect of an Israeli bomb that flattens a multistory building in Gaza and a direct hit by a Hamas missile on an Israeli home. That pitiful Palestinian projectile made an indentation hardly half a meter in diameter and did not even penetrate the wall because of reinforcements within. I watched both reports on the same NBC Nightly News. How hard can it be to figure this out? Explain by all means, but start by exposing the liars and ridiculing the lies outright.
On October 22, 2023, Dr. Q posted
Peter,
Once again, pure pristine common sense is coming from you.
Yes, it takes a microsecond to reach to the right conclusion in this case.
But as you already understood, Ray McGovern is a gentleman of the old school, doing his job dutifully; trying to enlighten with an hour of elaborate speech the idiots and the hopeless morons endowed with an unwarranted superiority complex living in the so-called collective West. To be fair, there are many exceptions, obviously.
From shameless people stating in public: "We lied, we cheated, we stole", why should anyone believe anything coming from their mouths?!!! And the moronic, immoral persons in the audience who were listening to Pompeo burst in laughter!!!
Pompeo probably still had an instinctive sense of self-protection, because were he really truthful, he should have added: We propagated diseases, we committed arsons, we murdered and we mass murdered.
Idiots are not capable of seeing the facts because they live exclusively in their own bubbles with no windows or doors. You mentioned rightly the very different impacts from a Palestinian projectile compared to an Israeli missile or bomb. Do you think the morons (many of whom are daily under the influence of substances at various degrees) are able of that kind of right observation & reasoning process???
You're too generous Peter!!!
To which, Peter responds:
Or listen for three minutes (added comment: which moron will sit down and watch something for an hour to learn the truth of anything?) to someone who is a hundred years old (not Kissinger), has spent his entire adult life in politics, most of it as the top leader of a populous country, and knows every world leader very well, including Biden and Bibi. Wouldn't you rather believe in someone of his background and status, who, at this late stage in life, fears nothing and has nothing to lose except his legacy?
On Oct. 23, 2023, Caitlin Johnstone's article was shared, in which she suggested the possibility Israel deliberately allowed Hamas' attack. While I have followed Caitlin for many years and agree with her most of the time, I commented as follows:
It is unnecessary to create the myth of the all-knowing Israeli intelligence. They're, after all, human beings. We know how awesomely inane and incompetent humans can be. Here is an example of how they could have missed an attack by a few thousand fighters. Fifty years ago, they missed a two-front attack by two regular armies with tanks, and almost lost their country. False flag? Methinks not. To prepare for that war, Egypt had conspicuously purchased a number of high power water cannons from Europe. It was not a secret. No one in Israel cared to find out why, because no one believed the Arabs would dare to attack the invincible IDF. Jordan also gave explicit warnings to Golda but was ignored. Israel's Sinai defence at the time was a great sand wall known as the Bar Lev Line. The IDF thought it was impregnable because it swallowed up explosives and artillery shells. Instead, the Egyptian army took water from the Suez, blew big gaps in the Bar Lev Line with their water cannons, and drove their tanks straight through. Sadat's goal, however, was to take back Sinai, and Israel lived to fight another day. After the war, many young Israelis men, especially those who fought, left the country. They had a rude awakening. They had believed in the myth of the almighty Israel state and the IDF, keeping them safe among their numberless enemies. The war shattered the myth, and for that reason, a young soldier of the Yom Kippur War came to Canada and became my friend.
If Israel had smart people running it, they should know the simple method to destroy Hamas without any bloodshed. Suggestions, anyone? How about making a fair and lasting peace with the Palestinians. But no sane people remain in the Israeli government. All we can do is witness the train wreck.
I'm a little surprised to note many pundits agree America is trapped. One of these days, Israel will do something really stupid, egregious and disastrous, and they will take the Hegemon down with them.
As for what Hamas did, don't forget we have only watched the news reported by one side, which lies all the time. You may have missed this interview of Yasmin Porat, a hostage survivor, on Israel State Radio (the video has been removed by YouTube; luckily, someone downloaded and reposted it. See below). She used the word "humane" to describe her terrorist captor. As for the IDF, she said they killed the hostages. This was reported by Haaretz, so it should be Kosher, so to speak.

Unfortunately, the United States, Canada, UK, France, Germany and most other members of the collective West are politically, economically and socially occupied by Talmudic Jews. They are not free countries, nor free peoples.
Talmudic Jews control the processes, the levers of governance, the media and the money. They use the imperial tool box: assassinations, blackmail, bribery, extortion, fake news and false flags nonstop.
RFK, Jr. is no different than all the rest. Bow down and kiss the feet of the Talmudic Jews or you will be destroyed.

Here is what China did. Netanyahu started fighting with the peacekeepers, and some of them were injured. He then in his criminal insanity demanded a withdrawal of peacekeepers on the northern border. This is a long-term peacekeeping force and not as corrupt as these blue helmets usually are. There are 50 countries involved, and China has a bunch of peacekeepers there. It is a large force of about 20,000 soldiers, heavy weapons and 10,000 support staff (from memory). I don't know if everyone knows that the zionist entity has been sitting on that border for days now, they cannot breach it and there are major casualties. This is Hezbollah that is decimating them. Oy Vey! The zionist cries that they cannot do this border violation to kill and massacre at will rises up to the heavens. It so happened that I was emailing with a friend who suddenly knew what everybody will do, should do and so on. I told him that China will not enter this fight but that they will do other things and I expect them to flood the peacekeepers. So, two things happened, Mao Ning gave a scathing reply to this firing on the peacekeepers. It was interesting from a few perspectives as China fingered and called out the perp: "Mao Ning: China is gravely concerned over and strongly condemns the Israel Defense Forces’ attack on the positions and observation tower of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), which injured personnel from UNIFIL. Any deliberate attack on UN peacekeepers is a serious violation of international humanitarian law and UNSC Resolution 1701. It is absolutely unacceptable and shall be put to an immediate stop. We request investigation into the incident, effort to bring relevant people to account and measures to prevent such incident from happening again. Parties to the conflict must earnestly ensure the safety and security of all UN personnel and property, including the UNIFIL. China urges parties concerned, Israel in particular, to take immediate measures to de-escalate tensions, ensure the safety of UN peacekeeping personnel, and prevent the conflict from further expanding or even spiraling out of control. " So, Bibi can cry about the peacekeepers and tell the UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres to withdraw peacekeepers, but now he is fighting China. Just look at that strong talk from China. And my stab at what China would do to my friend bore fruit. Just hours later we had a tweet as follows: "A video of China's peacekeeping force to UNIFIL in Lebanon expressing their love for their children and friends and their hope that the Chinese people will not be worried about them has gone viral on Chinese social media. Most Chinese expressed appreciation for the heroes and concern for their safety. The Chinese public is highly concerned about the safety of our peacekeeping forces after multiple aerial bombs exploded on the outside of Chinese peacekeeping troops' barracks in Lebanon in September, causing shock waves and bomb pieces to damage specific structures. The 22nd Chinese peacekeeping force to UNIFIL, which was deployed to the mission area in December 2023, is composed of a multi-role engineering company, a construction engineering company, and a Level-1+ Hospital. The force is mainly responsible for mine clearance and explosive disposal, engineering construction, medical assistance, humanitarian relief, and other tasks. More than 7,000 Chinese peacekeepers have been dispatched to Lebanon since 2006. The UN Security Council established the UNIFIL on March 19, 1978 to monitor the withdrawal of Israeli forces from southern Lebanon. Its mandate was expanded following the 2006 Lebanon War." And if you look at the tweet, there is a lovely video of the Chinese peacekeepers sending messages to their families. x.com/Eivor_Koy/status/1845736623373463553The one war that we as a world are involved in, is coming to an end in Ukraine. This is of course why this new war was ginned up, because the west cannot live without their neverending and perpetual serial wars. They are aiming at Iraq, which has had years to prepare and have wizz-bang weaponry. If they attack Iran, we either will have a world war on our hands, or the zionist entity will be blown to dust. It is so that we cannot keep watching a genocide and do nothing and the time for action seems to be creeping up. The attacks on the peacekeepers surely woke up the slugs at the UNSC. The region as a whole is surprisingly supportive of one another. There are about 10 bigger resistance groupings actively fighting. As they win on the battlefield, Gaza is the punchbag and the zionist atrocities continue, taking their revenge on Gaza and hoping to force an end because of the harsh reaction on Gaza. We don't see Shia/Sunni fights and the region is continuing talks to implement the process started at the Beijing conference just two or so months ago. Geopolitically this is both heartbreaking and heartening. Heartbreaking because of the horrible price that the Palestinians are paying, and heartening in the sense that we can see a clear movement toward a sane world if we look through the fog of war. Moving toward a sane world is now a historical reality. The barbarous hordes are fighting like dervishes, but slowly this region is making ground on the battlefield because of their unity and fraternity and because they have to. The battlefield is one way to deal with the barbarians in all their colors, zionist hordes and their nazi or fascist friends in western climes. Btw, Russia is out in their patrol airplanes or warplanes, 24/7 over Syria, because these barbarians are trying to set free those of an ISIS type persuasion, that are still locked in in the province of Idlib. Those are their friends too, as they created them.

It's indeed well written, but by whom? I cannot find the identity of the author.
"Even if America can print the money, they can't print bullets" succinctly explains Patrice's question about the Chinese economy. Most of us have lived only in the cesspool of the American economy and assume it is the only reality. America can print themselves into a booming economy based on the American dollar, and GDP is measured in American dollars. It is the prerogative of the Hegemon. The rest must pay tribute to Caesar's printing press, until such times the Hegemon loses the privilege, which will not be long in coming.
China is more concerned with productivity and affordability rather than American dollar-based GDP. What if China decides to produce everything efficiently and abundantly, discouraging speculation and reducing disparity by lowering prices for everyone, making food, fuel, housing, modern amenities, social services and advanced technology affordable for everyone? The West will report China's prices are contracting, its GDP is not rising as high as India's, its economy is in recession, the people are not buying expensive Western luxury brands and the Communist Party will collapse tomorrow.
Most of us don't understand economics because the one we live in is contrived, not natural. I intend to write about my interpretation of it, but it's a lengthy exposition starting with the emergence of life, a manifestation of the fundamental economic principles of living organisms. It is the reason my first conclusion is "Where there is life, there is economics." And Professor Lin signed off on it. When will I do it? Stay tuned.

Indi is Sri Lankan. I think he also has Canadian citizenship.
He has a bio on his website: indi.ca/about/
I am scheduled to have him on my show the last week in October. Should be a great discussion.

***** "For Destination Unknown, please keep in mind despite our best efforts to comprehend the world, we know very little of what goes on beneath the sound bites and rumours. We at China Writers Forum have various capabilities and experiences to make educated guesses, but the truth is much more complex, and we will only scratch the surface. I had such an experience when I was involved in a hostile takeover, acting as a Trojan horse for a Cabal with the secret wink of approval from the unspoken powers behind the curtain. We're talking about people whose decisions are so weighty you can only challenge them at Federal Courts of Appeal, and chances of winning an appeal in these high, rarefied institutes approach zero, the rule of law be damned. Yes, I also have some experience, but that's another story. Two years of intense media attention, including reports by mainstream investigative journalists, and no one even got close to sniffing a hint of the truth. It convinces me we know very little of geopolitical goings-on. Be that as it may, we may make reasonable assessments and share our opinions.
Four years ago, on the eve of the last two-ring circus in America, letting the people democratically decide how to be screwed for the next four years, I wrote an article predicting Trump would lose the election, refuse to concede and start an insurrection. I suggested it would present China with a unique opportunity to reunify with Taiwan with no bloodshed and little downside. Quora quickly took it down. On the other hand, I received an email from Professor YiFu Lin. It would have been worth the trouble if no other person read my article. The professor is a member of the CPPCC and the vice director of its economics committee. Click to read the article.
To ensure my message got across, I followed up with another article outlining the tactical details for executing the operation. Click to read the article.
As we know, nothing of the sort happened. On the other hand, I noticed the implementation of many suggestions in the articles. And China is much better prepared today. Meanwhile, America is unsettled with the fires it started in Ukraine and West Asia. Who knows, maybe another opportunity will avail itself, and we may wake up to a new world. I have an itch to make predictions again, but it does not matter who will be the president when we're looking at a forced mate in three moves. Sometimes, silence is golden."
***** End of Quote Without a crystal ball, I cannot make any predictions. The following is an assessment of the geopolitical situation for China vis-a-vis Taiwan
The US election: No matter who wins, the aftermath will likely be chaos. On the surface, Trump should be able to defeat Kamala hands down. Trump (the Fascist) won the primary and had real support, while Kamala (the Democrat) was appointed and won not a single vote. Furthermore, the American Presidential Election is a circus, and Kamala has the charisma and attractiveness of a slug. While I won't waste time listening to Trump's moronic ramblings, I actually cannot bear to listen to the discordant drone of mindless mumblings issuing from Kamala's mouth. I suspect I may not be alone.
Meanwhile, good old Bernie Sanders explains why we must vote for the less evil Kamala because the alternative is to allow the more evil Trump to take power. Should we believe in Bernie's promises? How many times will you put your trust in liars until you realize you are the problem? Ask yourself why these liars are not doing all they can to stop Netanyahu now. My advice is not to vote for evil of any kind; otherwise, you'll be a party to evil and become mired in evil. Maybe it's already too late.
Forasmuch Trump is a convicted criminal and Kamala a vacuous, bloviating puppet, future presidents will likely be installed, not elected. Why leave it to the whim of the moronic voters who have year after year elected liars, miscreants and imbeciles anyways? The election circus is a tiresome brouhaha and a waste of money. In any case, Trump won't concede defeat and will make trouble either way. In the words of Othello, "Chaos is come again." It's déjà vu all over again, and China may have another opportunity to make itself whole again.
Economic situation: China's economic problem is not because it's weak but because it's changing. Some Chinese people may not be able to adapt as well as others and, therefore, experience difficulties, but the country and its people have demonstrated their flexibility and resilience. Without going into details, the fundamental measure of a good economy is one in which people have sufficient sustenance to live without want and can defend their livelihood without destroying it.
China's economy is strong not because of consumer and commercial spending but of technological, engineering and production capabilities. These are two different aspects of the economy. The economy of the West hinges on reinforcing the illusion of the USD paper promises and buttressing monopolistic corporate giants. China's economy emphasizes the ability to make tangible things inexpensively to improve people's lives. American dollar-denominated GDP is excellent for measuring the former, not necessarily the latter.
When the West get themselves twisted into a pretzel worrying about unemployment, China is the world leader in robotics and automation, to hell with dead-end shit jobs paying slave wages. China is developing a future society to benefit everyone as the West tries to reshore sweatshops, making ten-cent gewgaws cost ten to a hundred times more to improve their illusory GDP. China is trying to make it affordable to have a middle-class lifestyle by, for example, lowering the cost of food, housing and healthcare. China's USD-denominated GDP is not growing fast enough because people can buy more stuff and get more services with less money. Therefore, according to Western pundits and their false measurements, China's economy is collapsing. We hear this rubbish all day long, but it's coming to an end. De-dollarization will achieve critical mass when, paraphrasing T.S. Eliot, the Dollar hegemony "ends not with a bang but with a whimper."
Suppose China reunifies with Taiwan and the West tries a Russian-style sanction on China. What will happen? Let's check the following:
1. Does China need food from the West? 2. Does China need energy from the West? 3. Does China need raw materials from the West? 4. Does China need more paper promises from the West? 5. Does China need science and technology from the West? 6. Does China need Western companies to supply essential goods for survival? 7. Does China need Western companies to provide essential services for survival? 8. Can China defend its properties? 9. Can China defend itself from anyone's aggression?
On the other hand, China is the top manufacturer and supplier in the world for the following: 1. Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients 2. Rare Earth for high-tech products 3. Shipbuilding 4. High-speed rail, highways, bridges and tunnels 5. 5G/6G 6. Nuclear Power Stations 7. Solar panels 8. Electric vehicles and parts 9. Batteries 10. Hypersonic missiles 11. Supercomputers 12. Drones 13. Heavy construction, mining and agricultural equipment 14. Tunnel Boring Machinery 15. Wind Turbines 16. Global Shipping 17. Intelligent Ports and warehouses 18. Robotics and automation 19. Electronics and appliances, etc. The list goes on and on. According to ASPI, an Australian and American-funded anti-China government think tank, the result of a one-year study indicates China leads in thirty-seven of forty-four critical technologies (such as AI, space tech and defence) and holds second place for the rest. In a two-decade tracking by the same organization, China leads in research on fifty-seven out of sixty-four advanced technologies. Let's not forget China is the world's factory, producing everything under the sun efficiently, reliably and inexpensively. Last but not least, when China reunifies with Taiwan, it will own the lion's share of the world's semiconductor production capability. Want to sanction China? Make my day, punk!
The strategic situation 1. Will America start a hot war with China, as predicted by Mearsheimer? I'm glad to hear Indrajit ridicule the current American blather about preparing for war with China. I have often written about how America, the bully, wants to win a zero-sum game using the madman's bluff. America got its butt kicked fighting Chinese peasants in the Korean War, Vietnamese guerrillas in the Vietnam War and Afghanistan goat-herders in the Afghan War. Even a simpleton can learn by watching The Princess Bride, in which Vizzini the Sicilian says, "You fool! You fell victim to one of the classic blunders. The most famous is Never get involved in a land war in Asia..." And America wants to get into a hot war with a China vastly more capable, armed to the teeth with advanced weapons and nukes wielded by a much larger army determined to defend something more important than gender correctness, such as sovereignty? Make my day, punk!
2. America is suffering from an internal rot and doesn't know how to reverse it. An army of desperate people are living on the streets. Some of the dispossessed and bewildered, having lost hope and sanity, grab the nearest lethal weapons and vent their anger on other victims of their heartless society. Meanwhile, the miscreants in charge incur untenable debt to create misery and death all over the world. In all matters of global geopolitics, the Hegemon stands alone, accompanied only by a rabid dog in West Asia on the verge of jumping off a cliff or being put down. Most of America's so-called allies are vassals with no love for their hateful master. One of these days, they will stab their leader in the front, and the Hegemon's last gasp will be, "Et tu, Brutus?"
3. It does not matter who is elected president of the United States; the West's trade and financial war against China will redouble. New tariffs, bans and sanctions will keep coming. It is the only kind of war the West can wage on China. Work for peace, by all means, but with eyes wide open and not expecting peace from the West. They will step over the Taiwan red line and attack China, hoping for a poorly planned reaction out of anger. It is not wise to wait until being forced to act. Those who believe Trump will end the Russo-Ukraine War should banish the thought. Trump will instead make Europe cough up the costs while America eats their lunch. Here is a snippet of sagacity from the one who had done it all, Kissinger himself, "To be an enemy of America is dangerous, but to be a friend is fatal."
4. Coincidentally, China agreed with India to de-escalate at the border, thus removing the worry of a conflict at its western flank as an operation is ongoing in the east. What epiphany helps India realize it needs peace with China? India is shocked, shocked its best anti-China buddy, the Hegemon, does not permit India to share the privilege of the Hegemon's prerogative, murdering enemies all over the world with impunity. India forgot it was murdering citizens of the Hegemon and its vassals inside their own countries. What's good for the goose is not necessarily good for the gander.
5. China is much better prepared than four years ago. Taiwan's legislature is controlled and headed by the pro-unification KMT. Taiwan's ex-president Ma was in Beijing recently having a face-to-face chitchat with President Xi (see below). If I were them, I would work out a plan for DDay+1. KMT can claim credit for Taiwan gaining acceptance into all international institutions, China's free trade deals and unfettered access to the entire Chinese market. Taiwan's current pro-independence president is not such a bad thing. He will provide the excuse, real or contrived, for the PLA to defend China's sovereignty by landing on the island. Thank you very much. If I were China, I would already have special ops on the ground, ready to take control of communications centers, important government buildings and high-tech semiconductor foundries. President Xi has been visiting the Eastern Theater Command, ensuring the PLA maintains high preparedness for action. Meanwhile, the PLAN conducts frequent drills around the island to unnerve and confound the opponent.
Here is a Western pundit who believes the PLA can take Taiwan by force within an hour. While the one-hour prediction is possible, it is implausible. I predicted one hour to land and one day to take complete control. The pundit can only imagine bombs and America daring to make war on China. No Taiwanese soldiers will die as they will surrender and go home peacefully. The pundit also thinks he is saying something original about containing China, but America has been making covert war on China for well over a decade. America's worry about losing Taiwan is why China must reunify with Taiwan. It does not belong to the US and is not for them to lose. After reunification, America will have the choice to pay for their semiconductors or have no semiconductors. Make my day, punk!
I hope to wake up soon to a new world when China becomes one again. China will have an unsinkable carrier overlooking shipping routes carrying essential food and energy to America's Asian vassals, capable of interdicting ships travelling those routes. At some point, China will help Okinawa, officially Ryukyu, accurately pronounced Luuchuu, achieve independence according to the Cairo Declaration, which says Japan will be "expelled from all other territories which she has taken by violence and greed." Asia will have peace when America leaves and, hopefully, without delay.

文 子,
You produced the crystal clear expression of the reality on the present geopolitical landscape and what will happen sooner than most people believe.

Amazing analysis, Peter.
The two Hitler spoof phone calls are fun.
The biggest weak link for China is soybeans. They have been importing around 100MMT/year, more than 2/3 global imports. Soybeans are used for pork and poultry feed as the primary protein source, and the people eat huge quantities of soybean-based tofu.
www-statista-com.ezproxy.canberra.edu.au/statistics/612422/soybeans-import-volume-worldwide-by-country/
The reason is Baba Beijing decided to produce heavier grain crops like corn and rice for more tonnage. A hectare of land can only produce a fraction of soybeans compared to grain crops.
Brazil and the USA produce most of the world's soybeans. If Uncle Slaughter could force the prior to stop exports to China, the people would be eating a lot less meat, eggs and tofu than they have become accustomed to, and it would devastate animal agriculture across the country.

Russia sees huge market potential, but it will take years to breed short season, cool weather soybean varieties. Soybeans are a hot weather summer crop. However, Canada grows soybeans, so there is a precedence.
