From a fan,
Hi Jeff,
I am watching your recent third video on corruption in China, which mentions the Defence minster fired. I had seen this case talked about in the video linked below, which suggests that this case was much more serious than suggested in your video due to US obtaining detailed military information of the Chinese missile implementation, perhaps through that minister.
I'd be interested in hearing your view on this or any updates, if you think it worth the time involved.
Chinese Military Purge Severe. Can Xi Jinping fix it in time? 習主席有點累哦
Thank you for your work.
Best regards
C
My reply:
China has been purging its military and government of corruption going back to the founding of the Communist Party of China in 1921. It's never-ending, because humans getting greedy and complacent.
Xi is continuing what Mao started almost 100 years ago. Mao listened to the masses about this problem and helped launch the Cultural Revolution 1966-76. There was no corruption during that decade. Since then, Xi has been the most effective at relentlessly keeping his foot on the anti-corruption pedal, after a lot of it from 1977-2012.
I have written much about it and in my books,
